Fruits charnus - à noyau: fruits à pulpe épaisse, comestibles possédant un noyau en leur centre.
Olives: fruits de l'olivier, à peau lisse, de couleur noirâtre quand il est mûr et verdâtre avant maturité.
Cerises: fruits du cerisier, à peau lisse de couleur jaune ou rouge.
Datte: fruits de dattier très sucré.
Pruneaux: Prunes séchées.
Prune: Fruit du prunier.

The cherry belongs to the family Rosaceae, genus Prunus, along with almonds, peach, plum, apricot and bird cherries. The subgenus, Cerasus, is distinguished by having the flowers in small corymbs of several together, and by having a smooth fruit with only a weak groove or none along one side.
